Danny & Abi’s Engagement Photoshoot in The Lake District

We set off on Sunday afternoon to meet Danny and Abi for their Engagement photoshoot deep in the heart of The Lake District.  They had travelled over from Malton Yorkshire the day before and stayed overnight, choosing to savour some of the delights of the Lake District landscape.  We will be travelling over to Yorkshire in September next year to capture their very special wedding day.  Abi is a giggler so some of the time we had to ask her to be a little more serious!  Danny is a Marine Biologist and has been working up in the Orkney’s for several months helping the Islanders build Lobster farms.

Whilst we were out with them I pondered on what makes a good or great photograph.  Some photographers may say technical excellence and whilst I understand that is important I think even more than that is capturing the emotion of the moment.  That may be tenderness, intimacy, fun or obvious love.  I hope you agree that all of these emotions are present in this set of images.  You may be interested to know that Schtuff will be exhibiting on the 27th of October at the Wedding Fayre at Broadoaks Country House Hotel near Windermere Cumbria.  If you would like to see our exquisite handmade Albums and a Slideshow of our images please come and say hello.

Chris & Clare’s Wedding at Broadoaks Hotel Cumbria

Chris & Clare were married and held their reception at Broadoaks Country House Hotel near Windermere Cumbria.  This is a wonderful place to get married and I can do no better than quote their own description ‘Broadoaks Country House is the ideal fairy-tale venue to host your special day. Steeped in history, beautiful to view and magical to feel, you will never forget this special wedding venue. Voted as one of the most romantic hotels in the UK by the AA.

The secluded gardens, the magical beck that runs through our grounds and the Lake District scenery provide the perfect backdrop for romantic photographs’.  Clare’s wedding gown was  Mori Lee by Madeline Gardner and looked exquisite with intricate lace patterns.  The Venue/Table Dressings were by Chris Grattan at Beautifully Vintage and although I have not included many photographs on this Blog of her work you can find a dedicated Blog on Christa’s dressing on this Blog.  We now offer a full Vintage Wedding Package that includes Vintage Wedding Photography, Vintage Wedding Cars (a whole fleet to choose from) Vintage Wedding hair & Make Up and Vintage Venue Dressing.  If this is of interest please mention Vintage when you call or email us.

Well we are trying to clear the decks this week after two other photoshoots as we have a Wedding to photograph on Saturday at Barnard Castle.  Really looking forward to that!  You may also be interested to know that we now run Training Courses out of our Studio in Oxenholme Kendal.  If you use a copy of the posting on our Facebook page this entitles you to a full days course at Half Price!  Just click on this link, Lake District Wedding Photographer, ‘Like’ our page and claim your discount.

Beautifully Vintage for Vintage Inspired Weddings

I recently photographed a Wedding at Broadoaks Country House Hotel Windermere and was struck by the dressings to the exterior and interior of the Hotel.  I since found out who supplied the vintage look and thought it would be a good idea to Blog the service.  Vintage is presently in vogue and as a wedding photographer we often produce a vintage feel to the images we produce for Couples.  If you would like to see more of this suppliers products and services click on this link Beautifully Vintage and speak to Chris.  Her description of the service is  ’Dreaming of your perfect day?  Here you will find unique treasures. Everything from Whimsical Rustic and Village Fete, to Grand Country House and Parisian Chic, or if you prefer Old Hollywood Glamour.  Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.  To have and to hold, for the most romantic of vintage wedding themes.’  The following set of images should give a good idea of what they dressed the venue with.  If you would like to see the Blog for the wedding keep looking as it should go up on this Blog before the end of next week.

Wedding Photographers Cumbria with Stephen & Amanda at the Inn On The Lake Ullswater

This is part two of the Blog for Stephen and Amanda’s wedding held at The Inn On The Lake Ullswater Cumbria. They were a fantastic Couple to work with, being very happy to try anything we suggested including a cold dip in the Lake for Amanda!

We have a busy month again ahead of us with bookings for our Photographer Training Day, a commercial photoshoot of Classic Cars to be taken at Holbeck Ghyll Hotel and a Wedding at Barnard Castle in Yorkshire.  Just an extra word about our Training Days which are exceptional value.  We do a one on one day which can be based in our Studio or out on location or a mix of both.  If you research prices on the internet for these type of days they are typically between £500 – £1000 depending on the photographer carrying out the training.  For the rest of this year we are offering this service for just £200.  This fee also includes supply of models for the day and use of all of Schtuff’s lighting equipment.  So if you want to improve or practice please get in touch.  We only have two days left in August and September is fully booked leaving some dates from October to December.

Stephen and Amanda Wedding at The Inn On The Lake Ullswater Cumbria

Stephen & Amanda were married at The Inn On The Lake Ullswater on one of those very hot days we were experiencing for once in our lives in the Lake District.  Amanda had chosen an Ian Stuart wedding dress which just looked fabulous.  Carrie Graham looked after make up which really looked good on Stephen, maybe just a bit too much red suntan!  Lisa Hill from Amici Hair and Beauty styled Amanda’s hair.  Gary, John and Kerri, the team at Inn On The Lake, made sure everything ran to plan as usual and Geraldine Ophide from The Wedding Studio made a really cool job of dressing chairs and tables.  There were too many interesting photos to do just one Blog so we will prepare another one in fairly quick order.

We are off to shoot another Wedding on Friday at Broadoaks Windermere, another stunning location and hoping the forecast stays dry. So to see more wedding photography tune in again next week.
