Wedding Photographers Cumbria at The Grosvenor London

Wedding Photographers Cumbria were with Ian & Cathy in January for their Pre Wedding photoshoot.  Due to the extremely cold weather and the fact that Ian had not been too well we decided to capture our images together in the Hotel.

Like most couples we meet Ian & Cathy were very apprehensive about having their photographs taken, so we usually start out with something straightforward and easy and work our way up to getting them really loved up!  For this photoshoot with Wedding Photographers Cumbria we were in London at the really cool Grosvenor Hotel on Buckingham Palace Road London. What a building, fully restored back to all former glory with gorgeous marble pillars and staircase plus two really picturesque wrought iron spiral staircases, not something we come across in The Lake District.  Ian is a great Classical Pianist and you can find his work at http://ian-haywood.co.uk/shop.html.  They are getting married at the Yewfield in The Lake District in May and Ian has composed a special piece of music for Cathy on the day.  That is surely going to be an emotional moment and one I will definitely want to capture.

If you are a Bride and Groom couple reading this and you would like to meet up there is a great opportunity to do that on Tuesday night, 12th Feb, as I am exhibiting at the Wedding Fayre at Stonecross Manor, an event sponsored by the Westmorland Gazette newspaper.  We have enjoyed meeting a lot of Wedding Couples there in the past and the Brides will be interested to know you can watch catwalk bridal gown shows as well as talking to me about lots of schtuff!

Bridal Photoshoot by Wedding Photographers Lake District at the Netherwood Hotel

January has turned out to be a really busy month and we expected it was going to be quiet!  We started out with a visit to London where we had a Pre Wedding photoshoot with Ian and Cathy, a Lifestyle photoshoot with Nigel and AnneMarie and finally a Fashion shoot with three models along the Embankment.  When we got back we then had a Family photoshoot at our Photography Studio in Kendal followed by a really cool model photoshoot with Ginny.  So plenty of photographs for me to process and blog!

We recently delivered Michael & Katies Album and wanted to show an example of the quality of Albums we deliver.  You can see a photo album of this on our Facebook page at Lake District Wedding Photographer aka Schtuff.  This one was a Crystal Glance cover with metallic pages made by the Italian album manufacturer GraphiStudio.  We have just ordered a full Swatch book from Graphi so our Wedding Couples can look at all the options available.  Katie sent us the following message: ‘Hi Steve & Ruth.  Just wanted to say thank you again for the beautiful wedding album. We love how the album ‘tells the tale’ of our wedding day, from start to finish. It will be treasured forever. We can’t wait to show our family and friends. Thank you:)’.

The photos on this Blog are of Andrea and taken at the Netherwood Hotel  Grange O Sands Cumbria.  Samantha and Laura from Harmony in Cartmel looked after the Hair and Make Up.  After the photoshoot Andrea sent us the following text ‘Everyone loving pics they are fab. One client wants you for her wedding when she sorts it xx.  Fantastic!”

With the Family photoshoot we took last weekend we delivered over 200 photographs for the family to choose from. The Mum, Nicola, commented ‘just finished watching the slide show on tv , there are some really stunning pics x’. So for now thats all we have time to update whilst I get back to processing the hundreds of images taken over the last couple of weeks.

Wedding Photographers Review 2012 Part 3

Well I have managed to get through hundreds of photographs to select just a few to put into this final review for last year.  We are really looking forward to tomorrow when we are at The Netherwood Hotel for a Bridal photoshoot, the images from which are going to be used by the Hotel and all those taking part in the day.  The great thing about a shoot like that is there is no pressure on time and we can make sure everything is perfect for each photograph we take.  Some Brides have expressed an interest in having a photoshoot like that away from the actual wedding day and we are very happy to accommodate such a request.

We got an interesting response today for a Winter Wedding photograph we submitted to a world wide competition and were informed we had achieved second place.  Now you make think second is not as good as first, however the photograph we submitted was from the very first wedding we did and there are many thousands of wedding photographers out there who have been practising many years.  So we were very happy to be placed second!  At the moment we are trying to build up the number of ‘Like’s’ for our Facebook Business page so if you have a moment please click on the F button below, have a look at our page which is titled Lake District Wedding Photographer aka Schtuff Photography and please ‘Like’ us!

Wedding Photographers Review 2012 Pt 2

As promised here we are with Part 2 of our review of Wedding photoshoots from 2012.  Like Part 1 these are all images that we have not blogged before so trying to keep it all fresh.  As you will see these are all Black and Whites and we have seen a definite trend back to this medium.  For Part 3 we will go completely vibrant.  Stay tuned!

January is promising to be a fantastic month for us.  On Saturday we have a photoshoot at the prestigious Netherwood Hotel Grange O Sands.  Then we are in London for a Pre Wedding photoshoot starting out at The Grosvenor and then a Fashion photoshoot along the Embankment in London.  Later on in the month we are back in the Studio for a photo session with a professional dancer.  we still have room to fit a couple more photoshoots in so get to the telephone now to make your booking, come and join us and get your 2013 off to a great start!

Wedding Photographers Review 2012 Part 1

It seems that the accepted thing for Wedding Photographers to do is put a review of their year on the Blog, so not wanting to disappoint here we go!  However rather than repeat images that we have blogged before we decided to put completely new images on and ‘theme’ them.  Just to explain a little further we are going to run a short series of review blogs and treat each photo set slightly differently.  So this first set is under the heading of Soft Summer and each photo has been processed through a colour change under the Summer theme.

Whilst preparing these photographs it triggered memories that with each Wedding we attended in 2012 there was a story to tell.  One of our Brides had discovered she had breast cancer not long before the wedding date.  The fortitude and courage she showed throughout that period was inspiring to all those involved in the day with her.  There was the Groom who was totally camera shy, worse than anyone we had previously photographed, but on the day he came through and we got some fantastic images.  We had the Bride who was up for the most fun we have experienced at a Wedding, making the day so enjoyable for all the guests.  One of the best set of photographs we got was in the Ladies toilets at the Reception venue when we followed the Bride in.  She enjoyed that and so did we!  Through it all it makes us realise how privileged we are to share in such wonderful and happy days with couples and family who we get to know just that little bit better.

So for the next set of review images we think we will go completely Black and White.  Like many things in life old fashioned has become the new fashion and Black and White has become increasingly popular.  Keep looking!
